Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA) is a voluntary association of Consulting Engineering firms with a member base across the country totaling in excess of 540 companies. CESA is the custodian of the wellbeing of the industry supported by member firms who employ approximately 24 000 people. CESA members are compelled to subscribe to upholding the integrity of the industry by adhering to a professional code of ethics providing quality and cost effective professional consulting engineering services. The organisation serves as a channel for Clients to address industry concerns while at the same time providing a platform for the sharing of information with the aim of assisting in optimising the planning and delivery of infrastructure projects both in the public and private sector.

Consulting Engineers South Africa's (CESA) latest Bi-Annual Economic and Capacity Survey July to December 2014, just released, indicates that after a more optimistic 2013, conditions in the first six months of 2014 appeared to have been less satisfactory.

Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA) supports the clarion call made by President Jacob Zuma at the SALGA National Members Assembly that the government should do better in improving services such as water infrastructure, solid waste management and the provision of electricity.

CESA President Abe Thela says that the organisation is encouraged by the statement but believes that employing engineering skilled persons in engineering positions as well as empowering them above other disciplines such as finance in matters relating to infrastructure management and implementation will go a long way in addressing inefficiencies in local government.

Importing Cuban engineers is short-sighted - CESA

CESA CEO resigns

Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA) President Abe Thela announces that CEO Lefadi Makibinyane has unexpectedly resigned and is currently serving his notice until the end of January.

Mr Makibinyane stated that it was not an easy decision for him to make, but unfortunately after all considerations put before him, he found it to be the most optimal decision to make at this current moment in his professional career.

He thanked CESA for the opportunity and support it gave him over the past 18 months of his tenure, wishing CESA and the sector it represents all the luck going forward.

"CESA wants to acknowledge Mr Makibinyane's contribution to the organisation. We wish him well in his future endeavors, especially as the new CEO of Amatola Water," says Thela.
